Interim & Fractional Leadership
Operating executives who lead the program and own the number.
Three interim or fractional seats for mid-market and PE-backed companies, $20M to $500M in revenue, in health and wellness and financial services: Transformation, IT and Growth. Each seat leads a defined performance program, from the Diagnostic baseline to the operating rhythm that sustains it, and is measured against your own numbers. Technology is used where it moves the number, not as the point of the engagement.
Three seats
Senior operators who lead the program and own the number.
Mid-market and PE-backed companies often need the judgment and the operating rhythm of a senior executive before they need, or can find, a permanent one: after a close, during an integration, between hires, or for a program that has to land within a quarter. Each seat below is an operating seat with a mandate and a number, not an advisory relationship.
INTERIM & FRACTIONAL TRANSFORMATION LEADER
Transformation Leader
One accountable executive for the value-creation plan: operating performance, cost-to-serve and integration.
INTERIM & FRACTIONAL IT LEADER
IT Leader
Systems, data and technology decisions that answer to the operating plan.
INTERIM & FRACTIONAL GROWTH LEADER
Growth Leader
Technology-led growth run as a managed process: commercial engine, pricing, pipeline and customer access, with a forecast you can defend.
Why Ometz
An operator in the seat, with the program behind it.
A consultant recommends and leaves. An interim or fractional executive from Ometz Partners holds the seat: the plan, the priorities, the operating rhythm and the number. Behind the seat sit the Ometz Partners programs, from the Performance Diagnostic to integration, measurement and technology deployment, so the plan and the means to deliver it come from the same place.
The seats are sized for mid-market and PE-backed companies, $20M to $500M in revenue, in health and wellness and financial services. The partner who scopes the work stays accountable through delivery, and the operating rhythm, reporting and documentation stay with you when the seat ends.
Who fills the seat
Ometz Partners is the accountable partner in every seat.
Seats are sold with Ometz Partners as the accountable partner: the mandate, the plan, the reporting and the result sit with the firm. The person in the seat may come from Ometz Partners or from a vetted network of operating executives, matched by seat and by sector. You meet the person, and agree the mandate, before anything is signed, and the operating rhythm, reporting and documentation stay with you when the seat ends.
How we are paid
We share the risk of the plan we write.
Every program is measured against the baseline set in the Diagnostic. Where the work allows, we put part of our fee at risk against the targets we agree with you. If those measures do not move, that part is not invoiced. A plan we would not be paid on is not a plan we should sell.
How it works
From diagnosis to handover.
01
Diagnose
We recommend starting with a Performance Diagnostic: two to four weeks for a fixed fee, a measured baseline, three priced improvement plays and a 90-day plan. It shows which seat, if any, the plan needs, and writes down the number that seat will own.
02
Match
Ometz Partners is the accountable partner in every seat. The person in it comes from Ometz Partners or from a vetted network of operating executives, matched by seat and by sector: someone who has run this kind of mandate inside a business like yours. You meet the person, and agree the mandate, before anything is signed.
03
Lead
The executive takes the seat, installs the operating rhythm, runs the program with your team and reports against the baseline every week. Ometz Partners specialists, including the technical team for deployment work, support the seat where the plan calls for them.
04
Hand over
The mandate closes with a documented function, a running cadence and the measures in place. The seat then continues as fractional, transitions to a permanent hire or ends, on your decision.
Ways to engage
Three ways to engage a seat.
The diagnosis comes first in each. Choose the model that fits the moment; the scope follows the model, and the quote follows the Diagnostic.
Fractional
Part of the week, ongoing.
An executive owns the seat and its number for part of each week, runs the operating rhythm with your leadership team and reports against the baseline. Structured as a monthly retainer scoped to the days the mandate needs.
- Owns the seat and its number
- Weekly operating rhythm with your leadership team
- Reports to the CEO, and to the sponsor where there is one
- Days scale up or down as the plan changes
Interim
Full coverage for a defined term.
A departure, an acquisition, a carve-out or a sale process. The executive takes the seat at full intensity for a defined term, stabilizes the function, delivers the near-term plan and then hands over to a permanent leader or steps back to a fractional role. Scoped and priced for the term.
- Defined term with a written handover plan
- Stabilizes the team, the numbers and the near-term plan first
- Documents the function as it runs
- Supports the search for a permanent leader if that is the outcome
Sprint
One mandate, about ninety days.
A single outcome with a baseline and a finish line: a 100-day value-creation plan, an integration workstream, a pricing reset or a technology deployment. Fixed scope, agreed before work starts and measured against your own numbers.
- Builds on the Diagnostic baseline, or sets one in the first two weeks
- One outcome, written down before work starts
- Operating rhythm and documentation left in place
- Converts to fractional if you want the seat kept

Interim & Fractional Leadership FAQ
A consultant recommends. An interim or fractional executive holds the seat: the plan, the team's priorities, the operating rhythm and the number. The work is judged on what changes in your results against the baseline, not on the quality of the recommendations.
Ometz Partners is the accountable partner in every seat. The person in it comes from Ometz Partners or from a vetted network of operating executives, matched to the seat and to your sector in health and wellness or financial services. Each has run a function or a P&L. You meet them, and agree the mandate with them, before anything is signed.
Three: Transformation, IT and Growth. Transformation leads the value-creation plan, operating performance and integration. IT owns systems, data and technology decisions. Growth owns the commercial engine, pricing, pipeline, customer access and measurement. The Performance Diagnostic shows which seat, if any, the plan needs.
Fractional seats run for part of each week. Interim covers the seat at full intensity for a defined term. A sprint is a single mandate over about ninety days. The Performance Diagnostic sets the scope before you commit.
By model and scope, not by the hour. The Performance Diagnostic is a fixed fee. Sprints are fixed scope. Fractional seats are a monthly retainer sized to the days the mandate needs, and interim seats are scoped for the term. We quote after the Diagnostic, when the mandate and the number are clear.
Where the work allows, yes. Every program is measured against the baseline set in the Diagnostic, and part of the Ometz Partners fee is placed at risk against targets agreed with you in writing. If those measures do not move, that part is not invoiced. The measures, their data sources and the time window are set in each proposal.
Yes. The sponsor or the portfolio company's board can engage the seat directly: for a 100-day plan after close, an integration, a gap in the leadership team or the preparation for an exit. Reporting goes to management and to the sponsor on a cadence agreed at the start.
Yes. You can keep the seat fractional, or use the period to define the job and then hire permanently, with the executive helping to write the specification and assess candidates.
No. The executive uses whatever moves the number. We are technology agnostic: we recommend tools on fit and cost, build on the systems you already run where they work, and tell you when the answer is not new software. Where we resell a product or receive a referral fee, we tell you before you decide, and we show you the alternatives we considered.
The executive runs the function and owns its number. Questions that need a licensed professional stay with one: legal matters with your counsel, tax with your tax advisors, investment decisions with your investment professionals and clinical decisions with your clinicians. Ometz Partners does not provide legal, tax, investment or medical advice.
Access is limited to what the mandate needs. Where the work involves protected health information, Ometz Partners signs a business associate agreement before any access. In financial services, the executive works inside your firm's compliance policies and supervisory procedures.
